handled in English or Japanese.

Estimates are free. Documents are exchanged online; no office visit needed.
Deadlines
Upcoming filing deadlines
An extension (Form 4868) gives you more time to file, not more time to pay. If a deadline is close, contact us anyway.
Extended deadline for 2025 returns if you filed an extension (Form 4868).
Deadline to file and pay for 2026 (Form 1040). The FBAR (foreign bank account report) is also due, with an automatic extension to October 15.
If you live and work outside the U.S. (for example, after moving back to Japan), you get an automatic two-month extension to file. Interest still applies to tax paid after April 15.
Extended deadline if you file Form 4868.
State deadlines can differ from the federal ones.

Services
What we take care of
Not just the return itself, but the work before and after it.
Federal and state returns, e-filed
Form 1040 or 1040-NR plus New York State (IT-201 or IT-203) and other state returns. We walk you through the return before you sign.
Japan-related filings
FBAR and Form 8938, the foreign tax credit (Form 1116), treaty disclosures (Form 8833), Japanese investment trusts (PFICs) and more, checked together.
Taking over from your current preparer
Send us last year’s return and we carry over losses, depreciation and other items. If you filed it yourself with TurboTax or similar software, that works too.
IRS and state notices
As an Enrolled Agent we can represent you before the IRS. We answer notices, file amended returns (Form 1040-X) and help with unfiled prior years.
